Dementia-friendly design in a compact hair salon

In this project, our goal was to design a hair salon environment that is safe, understandable, and calming for elderly residents, especially those living with dementia. We achieved this by carefully balancing contrast in colors and materials to enhance orientation without causing sensory overload. Simple geometric forms and softened furniture edges increased safety and comfort. By incorporating familiar, homelike elements, we managed to evoke the authentic feeling of a hair salon, even within a small and limited space.
